Hello! I am back from Phuket... again. And I would like to officially declare that I love that place to death. Fantastic weather, great waves, soothing sand, inexpensive shopping and stress-free massage sessions. Note the 'S' in session.
Fantastic WeatherIt is the low season, supposedly the raining period but thankfully, RHSPapa wore the right underwear and thus, no rain! *RHSPapa jumped in great joy*
Saturday - Reached Phuket in the afternoon and started our complimentary tour (which I seriously don't need it as I have been to the SAME places like four times with each visit to Phuket!). Tour consisted of visit to t-shirts wholesale 'factory' (aka a small by the roadside store which does their own t-shirt print and wahlah, wholesale 'factory'), jewellery factory (i caved in previously and this time, I was determined NOT to purchase any (sorry momsie) even though it is inexpensive), Thai tidbits store (I failed miserably and bought unhealthy junk foods worth more than 800baht (SGD35)) and lastly, a honey factory which we agreed that the sales people were pissed at us for not buying their SGD450 worth of Royal Jelly honey etc. Sorry dudes, honey is not my thing!
We reached the hotel and upgraded ourselves to pool access room! Yahoooo! Hotel was fabulous. Check it out
HERE. The travel agency we used charged us SGD50 each night if we wanted the pool access room and thankfully, we rejected that and approached the hotel directly. Sssssh don't tell the agency.
Great Waves & Soothing SandSunday, we were at the beach throughout the entire day and headed to a reflexology session in the evening. We had a great foot, shoulder, back and head massage. Aaaaaahhhh. It was the spa's anniversary and they had a 1 for 1 offer. And we booked an After Sun Soother package which I will tell you later!
Monday, guess where we headed to? The beach obviously! And I was badly burnt! But did I listen to my skin? Noooooooooo.... well at least, I stayed under the umbrella most times. Later at night, we went shopping. All the ladies, SCREAM! It is darn darn DARN cheap. I was not aware that I bought 8 silly t-shirts for less than 900baht (SGD40). 8 t-shirts! Impulsive buy?
I love this t-shirt with the print of CK logo (Calvin Klein) in the middle.... and there's a small print of FU and OFF at the side. LOL.
Tuesday, shop shop shop. Not me. My gal pal. And in the afternoon, she rot herself by the pool whereas yours truly headed to beach and enjoyed the atmosphere. The area that we have burnt ourselves to death, was cordoned off within seconds due to rip current... and there was a drowning incident. The beach people were caught offguard with the sudden change of current... even the para sailing people has to move to other section of the beach.
Now now, let me tell you my experience at the spa. I dislike body massage. I had it before and I would like to reaffirm that I DISLIKE body massage. A stranger rummaging your body and saw your private part/s.
Stress Free Massage SessionThe After Sun Soother package consisted of a cleansing foot wash (15mins), Thai herbal steam sauna (30mins), Aloe vera cooler BODY WRAP (60mins) and AROMATHERAPY OIL MASSAGE (60mins). I changed the oil massage to foot massage instead. Shuddup. And I thought I was safe. Lo and behold, I forgot that the Aloe Vera cooler body wrap involved body rummaging session with aloe vera and cucumber. I WAS TOUCHED ON EVERY SPOT OF MY BODY. Don't laugh people. Don't laugh. I am a guy. And I was body wrapped like a food wrap. I know I know, it is a spa treatment, RHSPapa!...but but...buuut a guy SHOULD not go for such feminine stuff.... I felt like a chicken wrap for lunch takeaway. Haha...
During that body wrap session... rephrase, during the RHSPapa could not move at all session, I had an itch on my nose. Argh. My hands were in the wrap! I had to do what a man go to do. Bewitch nose twitching. I was Samantha, wiggling my nose. I tell you....itchy nose, body wrap, no laughing matter.... I am such a guy guy huh?
And after that, we had food indulgence. Thai food yumyum. and my mood started to sway. Cos we had to pack and get ready to head home. Our flight was in the morning....
Anyway, anyway, work is good. My email system jammed on the day i came back to work but that did not spoil my mood cos I saw an unexpected email from HR that we will receive a special one time lump payment due to increasing cost blah blah.... yeah extra income in Sept! And and... I was asked to clear my remaining annual leave.... and and i am planning to go Phuket in November for a week this time! LOL. I must be mad.
Ssssssh don't tell my mom. I'll be back. Pardon my grammer... brain is not functioning. I am physically in my room but mentally, I am still in Phuket!

Sounds lovely. I'm not a big fan of a body massage from a stranger either. It's weird it doesn't feel good and it doesn't relax me. I like it when Jason gives me a massage though. Go figure.
